Westlakes recruit are currently recruiting for a commercial lead. This is a long term12 month rolling contract opportunity working on a nuclear new build project within the Bristol area.
Role:
The commercial lead is responsible and accountable for all contract and commercial management requirements to deliver the Project and contract objectives and protect the Company's commercial interests. The commercial lead reports directly to the Group Commercial Director and indirectly to the nominated Site Project Director. Regular liaison and feedback with the other company stakeholders and shareholders is also required to provide progress updates, raise awareness of risks and opportunities and to maintain corporate alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties are full post contract administration including measurement and valuation of the works, compiling applications for payment, preparation and co-ordination of sourcing strategies for specialist subcontracts, prefabrication, plant and materials, subcontract administration, cost and commercial management and reporting.
Knowledge:
Qualified QS to degree standard and professional qualification (MRICS) preferable.
10 years similar sector experience in related industries either Nuclear, Petchem, oil and Gas or Pharma.Experience:
Familiarity with mechanical, electrical and instrumentation installation essential.
Some exposure to major projects preferable.
Working knowledge of FIDIC form of contracts or NEC suite required.
Line management of a small team
Able to work in an integrated team in a high-pressure environment.
Able to compile claims strategies and to present and negotiate a settlement with the Customer.
Able to conduct difficult conversations.
