About the Role:
As a Development Manager for a key player in control systems, you will be a key team member, reporting directly to the Director.
Your main goal is to identify, win, and develop smart building control customers, both within existing markets and by targeting new ones, to drive growth and revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify new business opportunities, markets, clients, partnerships, products, and services.
Collaborate with marketing to tailor messaging and approach for different market verticals.
Develop strategies for generating new business.
Build and maintain client relationships, understanding their needs and developing proposals.
Pitch sales and products, providing bespoke solutions to meet customer needs.
Attend conferences and events to build industry relationships and stay updated on trends.
Create sales forecasts and deliver on them.
Understand company products, competition, and industry positioning.
Collaborate with design and sales teams for cross-selling opportunities.
Manage a sales pipeline through customer relationship building, partnerships, and market awareness.
Adapt offerings to industry changes based on market trends.
Provide weekly updates to senior management on progress and opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven history of winning large contracts and maintaining client relationships.
Strong track record in complex sales negotiations, pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
Excellent people skills and proactive in generating new business opportunities.
Solid knowledge of financial and budgeting processes.
Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong technical knowledge of building controls and energy-saving solutions.
Clean driving licence and willingness to travel within the UK and possibly mainland Europe.
Experience in relevant industries and working with partner organisations is preferred.
Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
Commercially aware and able to deliver profitable proposals.
Organised and self-aware, with a strong follow-up and planning ability.
