We are seeking a Data Researcher to join our client’s small team in Thetford, Norfolk.
This is a full-time, permanent position working from 8am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday and comes with an annual salary of £24,000 per annum with commission, meaning annual on target earnings of around £28,000 per annum.
The Company
Our client is a successful and well-established outsourced sales and market research firm with a small team of around 10. They offer telesales, digital marketing, and market research services for a broad range of companies, from software to retail, manufacturing to defence – both in the UK and globally, too.
They have a supportive, studious working environment where they take their work seriously. It’s a busy business, where each day the team represent a different client. This makes the work varied and pretty interesting as there’s always something new to learn.
The Job
Whilst the company’s workload and client base are diverse, the work of the Data Researcher is at times quite repetitive. Each project undertaken by the company starts with data. As the sole Data Researcher in the business, you will be tasked with client research, understanding their needs and the industry/market they are targeting. You’ll use software and databases to search for and gather data sets, quantifying this data before moving it into the company’s Excel spreadsheets for the sales and marketing team to access.
Your overall duties will consist of:

Creating, cleaning, and quality-checking databases in a timely and accurate manner.

Conducting desk research through portals, directories, trade bodies, and other sources.

Supplying background information for client meetings and events.

Analysing competitor profiles and movements.

Monitoring tender opportunities.

Writing up reports with analytical information.

Liaising with other departments to establish data needs and expectations.
Requirements
This role would suit somebody who has an inquisitive mindset and enjoys in-depth, desk-based work where you can just zone in and focus. You’ll need to be able to handle some repetition in your workload and cope with the monotony that this can bring!
This role would suit either somebody with experience in a similar role, where you’ve been handling data sets, ideally combined with research-based skills or somebody who has recently graduated, and as part of their studies has been conducting research and analysing data to use in projects.
