We’re working with a market leading manufacturer and supplier of equipment to the packaging and labels industries as they search to expand their team of Field Service Engineers.
As part of a team of experts, you’ll be committed to maintaining the highest standards, being the go-to expert for on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of their equipment.
This role is critical in ensuring customers experience minimal downtime and receive the highest level of technical support.
The ideal person for this role will have existing knowledge of machinery used in the packaging industry at an advanced technical level (i.e. die cutters, folder gluers, foil stampers/embossers, laminators, coaters, gravure printers, flexographic presses and more), OR, be a field service engineer looking to make the transition to a market leading manufacturer.
The Role

On-Site Service: Travel to customer sites to perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repairs on a catalogue of state-of-the-art machinery.

Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex electromechanical issues, ensuring machinery is functioning optimally.

Customer Support: Provide training and technical support to customers, ensuring they understand equipment operation and maintenance.

Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings to both customers and the internal team.

Safety Compliance: Ensure all service activities adhere to safety standards and protocols.
The Person

Education: Degree or diploma in Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field OR experience level equivalent.

Experience: Previous experience in field service, preferably with machinery used within the print or packaging industries.

Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities, hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, and proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings.

Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays, to various customer locations across the UK and occasionally further into Europe.

Communication: Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical end users.
Salary & Benefits
A competitive salary based on experience is on offer for this position up to circa £40,000 plus benefits including company vehicle, overtime paid at an enhanced rate (calculated daily), 25 days holidays plus Bank Holidays, performance related bonus, enhanced pension contributions and much more
