Our client has been a market leader in the compliance industry for over 40 years; this Quality and Compliance Manager for Legionella services role, is a great opportunity to join an experienced and passionate team. As Legionella experts, our client provides services in all aspects of water hygiene and legionella control including legionella risk assessments to the public sector, utility companies, industrial, commercial, and retail clients. Our client is established with rigorous growth plans; we are looking for talented employees who want to join our knowledgeable team. You will be overseeing the compliance / service delivery of the companies growing legionella department (UK wide), working closely with field operations manager and administration team, to ensure the smooth running and success of the department. Candidates will hold a strong technical understanding of legionella risk and management, having had previous experience working within a hands-on legionella risk assessor / consultant role. You will be responsible for overseeing legionella works, managing teams of risk assessor / engineers, as well as, maintaining the companies LCA accreditation through regular LCA audits.
Responsibilities
• Lead manager for all Legionella Services throughout the UK, managing and supporting the wider Legionella field service teams.
• Ensure statutory compliance and health & safety, against the industry recognised standards are achieved as appropriate and benchmark systems are developed/maintained.
• Work with the Field Operations Manager on various elements of management to improve the day to-day production and assist with innovation to grow the Legionella department.
• Support the sales team on any quotes and tender processes.
• Support digital development of Surveying Services.
Key Performance Indicators
• Audit at least 2 Legionella risk assessment reports per surveyor each month, to ensure company and industry standards are met.
• Quarterly audits to be performed on each surveyor.
• Microbiological positives to be communicated, processed, and investigated within 24 hours.
• 100% of scheduled jobs per week, to be fully completed to scope of work without incurring any additional costs.
Job Specific Functions
• Representing the company and promoting a professional image in the marketplace
• Keeping up to date with current water hygiene legislation and informing the company about any relevant changes.
• Technical support and guidance for all within the company
• Line managing the field-based legionella delivery team – to act as their line of support, and main point of contact.
• Ensuring the field teams are meeting KPIs, performing to industry standards and are being as proactive and productive as possible.
• Travel throughout the UK where required, to support field staff and operational needs.
• Management of larger legionella projects to ensure these ae delivered in line with agreed scope of work and within agreed budgets.
• Ensure that staff morale, well-being, motivation, attitude, and discipline are maintained in the best manner.
• To report back sales opportunities after client/site visits, and to ensure that this is communicated to relevant person for follow up.
• Identify and manage the on boarding and auditing of subcontractors.
• Personally, deliver Legionella Services as required – focusing on L8RAs, Written Schemes and L8
Training.
• Carry out regular audits of post service reports, field staff, and subcontractors.
• Supporting recruitment of external field staff.
• Training and Development of both internal admin and external field team.
• Analyse productivity in the field and assist improvements with planning.
• Involvement in Strategic Projects – to meet the Companies targets.
• Ensure that Business strategies are communicated and implemented throughout the external teams, in a way that supports and builds upon the strategic objectives.
• Regular mentoring and relationship development with Surveyors.
• Conducting annual appraisals, reviews, return to work, disciplinary processes etc. for the field teams.
• Assisting Sales with any quotes in relation to tender processes where required.
• Production of method statements and risk assessments for all Legionella related services.
• Organising appropriate equipment necessary for the tasks in hand, and ensuring all equipment is functional and within calibration limits.
• In conjunction with the Warehouse Supervisor, is responsible for ensuring that all general and specialised equipment is maintained in a serviceable condition.
• Supporting the Warehouse Supervisor with ensuring COSHH data is up to date.
• Liaising with client/site personnel with regards to work progress/issues – problem solving to ensure clients remain compliant.
• Ensuring any progress issues or problems on site are communicated to the office immediately.
• Development of digital compliance systems – ensuring greatest productivity and efficiencies are achieved, from site delivery to post service report production.
• Asset management of digital compliance system – ensuring this is up to date and managed in line with L8 requirements.
• Manage and prepare for industry leading audit requirements.
• Ensuring the team are adhering to company procedures.
• To act in accordance with the Company Code of Conduct (Ref: POL037) when engaged on Company duties, in any capacity and at any location.
