Duration: 6 - 12 Months
Day Rate: £355 p/d Umbrella // £265.49 p/d PAYE + 36 days annual leave
Are you ready to make a significant impact in the nuclear energy sector? Hinkley Point C (HPC) is seeking an experienced and passionate Technical Instructor to join the Nuclear Skills Alliance (NSA). As part of a pioneering project to build two new nuclear reactors, you will help provide low-carbon electricity for around six million homes in the UK.
Job Purpose
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering technical maintenance and engineering training programmes in key areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (I&C), and Engineering. Your expertise will ensure personnel have the essential knowledge to excel in their roles, maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy
Principal Accountabilities
As a Training Instructor, your contributions will be crucial to the NSA's success and the overall performance of HPC. Key responsibilities include:
Training Development & Delivery: Create and deliver training materials for Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, and Engineering disciplines.
Classroom & Workshop Training: Conduct training sessions and provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to expedite learning.
Course Coordination: Lead and manage training courses, adapting delivery to group sizes ranging from 1 to 20 participants.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with line managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure training meets team competence needs.
Quality Assurance: Ensure training materials adhere to standards and procedures, delivering high-quality training experiences.
Knowledge & Skills
Essential:
HNC or higher-level qualification in a relevant technical subject or equivalent experience in a science or engineering-related discipline.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to apply current knowledge and adapt to the latest technology.
Effective team player with problem-solving capabilities.
Strong mentoring and influencing skills.
Willingness to travel as needed to deliver training away from the HPC base location.Desirable:
Knowledge of training processes and modern learning methods.
Experience in the power generation sector or a related industry.
Familiarity with the Vision training tool.
Recognized teaching/training qualification.
Experience in customer and stakeholder relations.
