JOB DESCRIPTION:
This role is responsible for working closely with the business to guide, liaise and support the administration of the Health & Safety function and associated management systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the Global Health & Safety Specialist in ensuring the company is compliant.

Support and guide the company to meet Health & Safety requirements and obligations.

Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders & employees to influence and promote good Health & Safety practices.

Creating/Completing risk assessments, safe systems of work, safety audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Advise management on safety matters, including the implementation. of safety initiatives, safety management systems, and safety performance indicators.

Provide safety training to employees, which could include inductions, manual handling, and DSE.

Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, conduct root cause analysis with recommendations for corrective actions.

Liaise with regulatory & audit accreditation bodies, ensuring that the company remains compliant with all relevant safety legislation and regulations.

Take appropriate measures to keep the workforce informed of safety matters inclusive of delivery of site safety meetings.

Attend safety meetings and conferences to stay abreast of industry developments and best practices for the company and your own self development.

Mentor and advise our IOSH-qualified managers on safety, compiling safety documentation, and following best practices.

Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health & Safety, Information Security, Site Security and GDPR.

Be the System administrator for organisation Health & Safety management system.

To support and complement the fire-responsible person at their site to ensure the site overall is compliant with the RFFO.

Drive the Health & Safety committee meetings within the company to ensure best practice is disseminated throughout the company.
About You:

Previous experience of a similar role – ideally within an Engineering / Manufacturing company.

Someone who thrives on working in a fast-paced environment and takes a hands-on approach to their workload.

You will be process driven and be passionate about Health & Safety processes.

NEBOSH general certification or equivalent.
-
Full and valid driving licence.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with acute attention to detail.
-
NEBOSH Environmental Management or equivalent (desirable).
-
NEBOSH Certificate in Fire safety or equivalent (desirable).
-
Manual handling assessor (desirable).
-
DSE Assessor (desirable)
