Project Buyer:
The Project Buyer will play a pivotal role in managing supplier relationships and procurement processes. The position requires collaboration with business managers to ensure corporate process alignment and continuous improvement in procurement practices. The successful candidate will be integral to the procurement team, working to achieve departmental KPIs and supporting project delivery plans.
Job Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Buyer to join a dynamic team in Leeds. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key supplier relationships and ensuring alignment with business objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs). The role requires the development of best practice procurement techniques to enhance efficiency and support a team of project buyers on national projects.
Oversee regional supplier meetings, managing escalations and resolutions.
Schedule and conduct monthly supplier review meetings with key suppliers and stakeholders.
Conduct quarterly supplier account meetings to discuss capacity, commercial, and pipeline KPIs.
Report material costs to commercial staff to assist in cost reporting.
Collect, collate, and review key account information relating to suppliers.
Coordinate escalated invoicing issues with the accounts payable team.
Stay updated with industry and business information relevant to procurement processes.
Record savings and support the business in target planning.
Engage with key stakeholders and support project managers in developing project delivery plans.
Assist the estimating department in bid preparation and client negotiations.
Ensure timely communication of all internal reports.
Collaborate with the team to meet departmental KPIs, including material savings and cost avoidance.
Participate in relevant training and process activities. Experience & Skills Required
Previous experience in a project procurement role.
Working knowledge of ERP systems.
Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and good numeracy skills.
Commercial awareness and proactive approach to challenging the status quo.
Delivery-focused with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong written and oral communication skills, with experience presenting at various business levels. Desirable but Not Essential
MCIPS qualified.
Experience with SAP systems. What's on Offer:
