Our client is a Freight Forwarder with offices in Basildon. They are recruiting for an experienced FCL Operations & Sales Coordinator.
A dual role combining Operations and Sales activities for the FCL Department.
This role would be ideal for someone experienced and interested in the full Sales/Operations end-to-end process that is looking for a chance to join a small growing team, with ambitions to grow.
The core requirement is someone with and operational background with either experience in sales or looking to enhance, understand and gain knowledge of FCL Inside Sales activities.
Duties will include;

Coordinate general Sea Freight Operations in support of the departmental vision of the company to become more competitive and profitable.

Coordinate the complete end-to-end Operational cycle of business from Booking with Carrier to invoice reconciliation, revenue and costs.

Maintain regular spot checks and report any errors or inconsistencies to the line manager and check all is in order and we have all documents required.

Correctly complete all customs declaration forms.

Maintain accurate accounting records for the FCL department, ensuring timely reconciliation of invoices and file closing.

Accurately complete all invoicing for imports and clients.

Follow up late customer payments in conjunction with credit control.

Ensure all operational activities and invoicing are completed on time.

Always maintain and utilise the operational system at all times.

Implement and improve new efficiencies in customer workflow in conjunction with line manager.

Ensure all reports are generated by given deadlines and handed to line manager.

Manage Internal Sales enquiries for FCL Ocean Freight, providing Client quotations.

Follow up client quotations, promoting booking/s, inducing feedback relating to companies rating and service opinion.

Feedback Client responses and provide input regarding Department strategy.

Work with Carriers to provide competitive and commercially viable service offerings for new and existing customers.
Experience Required;

Relevant Operational and Customer Service experience gained within the shipping industry, preferably FCL

In depth knowledge of Sea Freight Operations

Experience within customer facing/inside sales setting

Commercially and operationally aware

Understanding of Freight Customs preferable.
Ideal systems experience;
Intermediate MS Office 365 knowledge, CRM Software knowledge, accounting software
Salary is dependant on experience
