Client: Our client is a nationally renowned M&E Contractor. They have numerous offices throughout the country their client base ranges from end users to large main contractors, including: Kier, Morgan Sindall, Wates and Carillion. They specialise in technically challenging projects within the Datacentre, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Residential and R&D sectors. Following the appointment on a major project in Southwest London, they are looking to recruit a Document Controller.
Project: Wimbledon – Millenium house
Main Contractor – Sir Robert McAlpine
Wimbledon is the refurb of Millenium House in the tennis court campus opposite centre court. The project is circa £35 Million MEP and the program runs over 4 years.
The project itself is a strip out on an existing building and adding a floor, it currently only 4 floors and will have a fifth. Although a strip out they will be adapting some of the existing services, so anyone with experience in refurbishments utilising existing services would be good. New Plant and new HV will be being installed.
Roles and Responsibilties:
- Recorded, distribution and updating documents and drawings using a controlled software.
- Dealing with timesheets
- Checking dispatch documents are accurate.
- Update the revisions on drawings and as built drawings.
- Printing and scanning documents for supervisors and site manager.
- Ensuring all documented information relating to the project is going through to document management system.
- Downloading/uploading, production of workflow reports/schedules
- Managing booking delivery slots
- Scanning and management of weekly notes to head office.
- Assistance with QA documents.
- To label, log, store and process all sample approvals.
- Establish and maintain a Request for Information log.
- Liaise with consultants/contractors to ensure that all parties are working to the correct
- drawings and other design documents, and to ensure that all parties are issuing documents correctly.
- Keep up to date copies of each drawing and other design/ approval documents on site for the use of the Project Team
- Undertake regular reviews of the system to ensure effective use across the project.
- Booking of monthly forums and issuing key items out to subcontractors.
- Weekly issue of toolbox talks to the subcontractors to ensure we cover all bases.
