Business Development Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager or Technical Sales Executive with a strong background in hazardous waste, waste management, or industrial services. The primary focus of this role is to secure profitable contracts for hazardous waste management services and large one-off jobs, including tankered services, drummed and palletised waste. You will collaborate closely with the technical team to ensure proper handling of materials within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop new business through cold calling, lead generation, and following up on inquiries.
Maintain and grow a sales pipeline.
Deliver presentations, provide consultations, and offer solution-based sales pitches.
Experience & Qualifications
Proven track record in a similar new business role, selling waste management or brokered waste services.
A reasonable technical understanding, enabling effective communication with the technical team, and familiarity with hazardous waste pre-acceptance requirements.
Willingness to commute regionally and spend approximately two days per week at the depot. A UK driving licence is essential.
Chemistry-based qualifications are a plus, though strong sales skills are the primary focus.
