With the success of recent tenders, our client is now seeking highly skilled and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyors to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing costs and contracts for large commercial schemes, ensuring the financial efficiency and viability of projects.
Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their ever-growing team. In this role, you will assist in managing all costs relating to building projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. You will work closely with their senior quantity surveyors and project managers to ensure our projects are delivered on time and within budget.
This role is based out of the Bristol office but projects range between Exeter and Taunton, this is where the majority of your time will be spent on site.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for projects.

Perform measurement and valuation of work in progress.

Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.

Assist in the management of project finances and the preparation of monthly financial reports.

Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure work is completed to specification.

Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and project delivery.

Support senior quantity surveyors in the negotiation of contracts and procurement of materials and services.

Assist in the assessment and approval of subcontractor invoices and claims.
Requirements:

Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX) is a plus.

Prior experience or internships in a similar role within the construction industry is desirable.
