Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Dispatch Assistant to join our team on a 3-month rolling contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the dispatch of goods, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. This role is pivotal in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
Dispatch Coordination: Schedule and coordinate the dispatch of goods, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Communication: Liaise with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers to provide updates on delivery statuses and resolve any issues that may arise.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including shipment details, delivery times, and any discrepancies.
Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control, ensuring all dispatched goods are accounted for and correctly recorded.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any delivery-related issues promptly, minimising disruption to operations.
Compliance: Ensure all dispatch activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
Support: Provide administrative support to the dispatch team as needed, including filing, data entry, and report generation.Qualifications and Skills
Experience: Previous experience in a dispatch or logistics role is preferred.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Problem-Solving: Ability to think on your feet and resolve issues efficiently.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with dispatch software is an advantage.
Flexibility: Willingness to work additional hours as required
