Job Title: Solar PV Designer

Job Description:
Our client focuses on providing eco-friendly energy products and services, such as solar panels, battery storage systems, and other energy-efficient technologies. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Solar Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in using solar design software, particularly Open Solar or PV Sol, to create accurate and efficient solar energy system designs.
Responsibilities:
Utilise Open Solar or PV Sol software to design solar energy systems according to project specifications and client requirements.
May have to conduct site assessments to gather necessary data for designing solar systems, including shading analysis, roof measurements, and electrical infrastructure evaluations.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure designs meet performance objectives, regulatory requirements, and budget constraints.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in solar technology to enhance design methodologies and optimize system performance.
Requirements:
Proven experience in solar energy system design, with a strong proficiency in using Open Solar or PV Sol software.
Previous experience as a solar installer is desirable, but not essential.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work within established timelines.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations governing solar energy systems, such as NEC, IEC, and local building codes.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
