We at Work Lyf Group are recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager for our well-established client based in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a temporary contract for 2 months.
In this position you will be covering sites across the Midlands and Northwest.
As a Health & Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations (CDM) and promoting a culture of safety & excellence across all construction activities on this programme.
Key Responsibilities
1) CDM Compliance - Ensure that all activities undertaken by the principal contractor comply with the requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
2) Risk Assessment - Review all on site risk assessments for each phase of the construction project making sure there is a comprehensive risk management strategy in place.
3) Health & Safety Policies - Assist in the development and maintenance of robust health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with CDM regulations.
4) Regular Site Inspections - Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and compliance issues. Take necessary corrective actions to mitigate risks.
5) Training & Education - Provide onsite health and safety training as and when required, ensuring our site teams understand their responsibilities and obligations under CDM regulations.
6) Incident Investigation - Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
7) Documentation & Reporting - Maintain accurate records of health and safety inspections, incidents, and training activities. Prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities as required.
8) Collaboration - Liaise with the project team to ensure effective coordination of health and safety efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
9) Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities for improvement in health and safety processes, procedures, and practices, and implement measures to enhance overall safety performance.
10) Emergency Preparedness - Assist in the development of an emergency response plan and procedures and ensure all personnel are adequately trained to respond to emergencies effectively
