Operations Manager – Rail/LV Projects
Based in Hamilton

Opportunity for an Operations Manager with experience of Rail/LV projects to join a leading independent service provider. Employing over 600 people in the UK and overseas, with a turnover in excess of £77 million, this is a company that recognises the expertise people bring by offering them responsibility and ownership in their field of speciality.
Working as the Operations Manager, you will lead and manage the Rail/LV projects and project team, including management and development of the rail sector, covering operational, financial, customer and employee strategy within the business. You will also ensure a continuous pipeline of business through development of new and existing clients/projects.
Please note due to the location of the client, travel will be required occasionally.
In the role of Operations Manager you will:
Manage the P&L (c. £2million) with budget and commercial responsibility
Work as part of the management team to achieve the overall objectives of the business unit
Demonstrate an understanding the market, identifying and delivering new opportunities to tender
Manage costs and improving efficiencies
Setting clear and measurable goals and objectives to develop culture of performance
Manage projects, processes, and procedures to achieve right first time and customer satisfaction
Manage contracts, interpret and implement appropriate controls with the management and the Commercial team
Ensure compliance to company policies, procedures and safety protocols
Work closely with the Health and Safety team and be actively involved with future RISQS audits
Take lead role in all HR activities within the profit centres, coaching and developing the workforce ensuring quality, health and safety standards are maintained
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager who has:
Considerable experience managing P&L, budgets, commercials
Strong technical knowledge of the Rail and LV market and electrical industry
Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate and develop workforce
Excellent customer focus and understanding
Preferably degree qualified
PTS/ IOSH/ SMSTS Health & Safety for Managers
