We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced hands on Maintenance Electrician to join our North West NHS repairs and maintenance team. Rydon has established a strong reputation for the quality within our maintenance division with a particular focus on NHS Hard Facilities Management - consisting of responsive repairs as well as planned/preventative maintenance.
Job Purpose
As Maintenance Electrician you will be hands-on performing daily site maintenance duties as part of our PPM (planned and preventative maintenance) programme. Work will be across a variety of trades, tailored to skill set, and along with electrical repairs and maintenance works might also include some plumbing through to other building fabric maintenance.
In addition to day to day maintenance duties, the preferred candidate will act as focal point for external contractors organising and arranging planned maintenance visits where necessary. You will also manage site files ensuring that statutory and technical compliance and safety, health and environmental policies and procedures are met on site.
You will be based at the Alfred Barrow Health Centre in Barrow-In-Furness. This site is part of one of our North West NHS Healthcare Maintenance Contracts. This centre was a former school which has been refurbished and now houses an ambulance station for the North West Ambulance Service, three GP Practices, a pharmacy and office spaces.
Normal working hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. You will also have the opportunity to participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs).

This is an excellent opportunity for a varied role combining site supervisory and maintenance duties.
Experience Required
The successful maintenance supervisor candidate will have previous supervisory experience or be an experienced maintenance engineer looking to progress their career. Experience will ideally have been gained supporting NHS clients, this might have been gained working directly for the NHS, or a maintenance contractor providing services within the NHS. All candidates with other commercial experience will also be considered (ie, offices, supermarkets, hotels etc)
You will have a technical knowledge of M&E building services maintenance and of Health & Safety procedures in daily site operation.You will also hold electrical qualifications (Level 3 Electrical Installations and 18th edition. Inspection and Testing would be beneficial)
