What will you be doing?
Install and maintain our customers Telephony TDM and IP Business Phone Systems as well as applications in call centre environments, including call queuing, agent control, reports and wallboards.
Install and build customer’s solutions via Call Switch, 8x8 and NFON hosted platforms.
Fault find on VoIP networks which will include the protocols SIP, RTP, T38, ALG, DNS, TCP, UDP, FTP, Multicasting, Layer 2 and 3 routing and QoS. As well as using tools such as Wireshark and Syslog to identify problems with SIP extensions and SIP trunks
Work with Active Directory, DNS, SQL, DHCP and Exchange on windows servers
When required, technically qualify business opportunities to ensure the solution will meet the customers’ requirements. Reporting any discrepancies to the Engineering Team Leader
Install G4 solutions, undertaking cable runs and overcoming buildings / logistic issues as they arise, ensuring each installation or site visit has technically been documented
Investigate faults that are the result of product malfunction and share findings to the team
Be a Global 4 brand ambassador, always ensuring professionalism whilst liaising with our customers to deliver exceptional service
Work closely with our customers to ensure they understand and can use their new services through engagement and 1st class training delivery
Undertake a Health and Safety risk assessment of the site, ensuring all risks are eliminated or minimised. Ensure you have the correct equipment, tools and protective clothing to carry out the installation before commencing work, reporting any issues of concern
For all install visits, attend site in accordance with the work schedule provided; ensuring you arrive at site at the correct time in accordance with the installation instructions (normally 9am)
Pro-actively maintain and develop knowledge of existing and future G4 services, supporting the development and implementation of new products/solutions though training and support is offered to develop our people in their core role and devising personal development plans.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications, and procedures
Adhere to company work instructions, relating to internal CRMs, supplier escalations and customer complaints
Work collaboratively within the team, being pro-active when it comes to personal development, communicating any key areas where further development is required
Install and repair CAT5/CAT6 network points.
Flexible team member that is enthusiastic about meeting customer expectations and willing to support occasional overnight stays and overtime.
What do we need from you?
Possess a clean UK driving licence.
Be able to demonstrate telecommunications and IP Technical knowledge to a high standard
Be able to demonstrate an aptitude for technology and have a high level of manual dexterity.
Desired CCNA or CompTIA Networking + qualification. Microsoft Server 2012/2016 experience
Experience as a field engineer desirably installing & maintaining IP Telephone systems that can demonstrate strong understanding of Wi-Fi solutions and connectivity.
Have a flexible approach to work and be team oriented.
Be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Have strong IT skills and a working knowledge of windows-based packages and other databases.
Have a strong understanding on the importance of delivering outstanding customer service.
Have a desire to learn and be committed to ongoing professional development, undertaking training as required.
