Commercial Property Paralegal – Hybrid

This is a hybrid position, with 2 days per week in the office in Westham.
Hours of work: 9am – 5:30pm (though the role primarily involves completing work within schedule and deadlines, and some progress chasing may be outside these hours).
Salary: £27,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.
Main Purpose of the Job:
Provide cost-effective support to the senior executive team (particularly the Head of Land and Directors) across multiple brands and projects, primarily commercial with some residential.
Offer general administrative legal support to the group office. Key Responsibilities:
Support under Supervision:
File creation and client care correspondence.
Attend meetings and take notes.
Obtain title documents and submit searches.
Prepare Stamp Duty forms, completion statements, and invoices.
Handle Land Registry applications and deal with requisitions.
Draft contracts, transfer deeds, and leases.
Respond to Commercial Property Standard Enquiries.
Manage pre-completion requisitions.
File closing and deed storage management.
Handle telephone calls and basic enquiries.
Perform administrative duties including photocopying, scanning, filing, and letter writing.
Draft AFL and Heads of Terms (HOTs).
Participate in departmental meetings. Matter Handling:
Manage own caseload for file review purposes.
Address routine client enquiries and communications.
Collate matter start and completion data.
Deputise for the Head of Land and Directors in their absence, referring urgent issues as needed.
Coordinate key dates reminder system.
Ensure client matter files are updated with correspondence and documents.
Shared Administrative Duties:
Participate in shared administrative tasks as agreed on a rota basis with colleagues. Personal Specification:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a commercial property paralegal.
Proficiency with the Land Registry portal and SDLT online.
Enthusiastic, hardworking, and able to demonstrate initiative.
Highly organized with the ability to complete tasks effectively and promptly.
Cheerful personality with a smart and tidy appearance.
Adaptable and accommodating.
Strong attention to detail.
