Transport Coordinator
Location - Milton Keynes MK12
Working hours - Monday – Friday 6am to 4pm
Salary - £30,000 per annum
Contract – Permanent
Role Purpose –
Reporting to the Transport Manager working within the transport team at the MK Depot depot.
Supervise the day to day activities of the Milton Keynes Depot Drivers.
Provide internal administration support for the transport team
Manage the weighbridge for third party tipping
Deliver and demonstrate our Company values.
Key Responsibilities –
Book on jobs, allocate work and print job packs for drivers daily.
Effectively plan driver cover to ensure all services are run as required.
Liaise with drivers to ensure jobs are completed correctly on the PDA with all pictures and notes where required for problem jobs/alerts.
Liaise with customers where required.
De-brief the drivers daily & administer the driver worksheets daily.
Ensure correct vehicle registrations are on the system before allocating (where required) and printing the work for the drivers.
Spot check internal systems to ensure protocols and procedures are followed.
Overseeing weekly wheel torque register
Making all drivers aware of any vehicles services/MOT
Booking external vehicle services in line with schedules.
Provide cover for the Depot Manager as required
Undertake morning checks on R2C to ensure all drivers are in as expected and have completed their daily defect checks – escalating any issues identified.
Effectively handle and resolve day to day issues identified by drivers or customers – escalating where required to the Depot Manager.
Booking in all the daily fuel usage
Liaising with other departments to ensure work is completed and customers are satisfied.
To ensure the smooth day to day running of the transport team adhering to all company policies and procedures
Skills & Experience –
Transport/Logistics experience
IT skills – Word, Excel, Powerpoint and the ability to learn software
Health & Safety awareness
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Good at information seeking and handling
Able to manage multiple tasks
Able to work well under pressure
Strong relationship building skills
Excellent customer service and oral/written communication skills including polite telephone manner
Weighbridge experience is desirable although training would be given.
