We are recruiting for a male support worker to join our team in the Castlepoint area.
Due to the needs of the person we support, we can only consider applications from male candidates with experience in complex care.
You will need to have a Full UK driving licence, however access to your own vehicle is not essential.
The role
Lee is a wonderful non speaking man in his early 20's living in the Castlepoint area. To communicate, Lee uses PECS, vocalisations, basic signs and body language.
Lee enjoys going for drives in his mobility car listening to music, attending his local supermarket early evening to do a quiet weekly food shop, visiting the local farm and even enjoying a game of bowling. He enjoys having two warm baths a day. As you may have imagined, routine is vital to Lee.
This role would suit someone who is calm, patient and passionate about enabling Lee to be as independent as he can be, whilst being as supportive as possible interacting within the local community.
We deliver a 24/7 service and have various full and part time hours available. The shift pattern is a mixture of 8am - 4pm, 4pm - 10pm; you would be required to work alternate weekends and complete sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment)
A support workers day would include:

Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community

Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication

Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour

Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication
