Salary: £48,000 - £55,000 Plus Bonus (upto 15%), Private healthcare & Pension.
Hours: Monday to Friday: 9am – 5pm (Some Flexibility Required)
Location: Commutable from Reading, Maidenhead, Bracknell, Newbury, Henley, Basingstoke and surrounding areas

We have an exciting opportunity to join a globally respected production company who are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Team Leader to head up its engineering team at their Berkshire factory. The role could also suit a Senior Maintenance Engineer looking for their first step into management whilst remaining on the tools.
The Role
To lead and guide the maintenance function at one of the company’s smaller factories in Reading, working closely with the site manager & production team to ensure the availability of machinery. The Maintenance Supervisor must also be a competent Engineer who enjoys being hands-on, assisting with the day-to-day planned maintenance & reactive breakdowns as they happen.

Responsibilities
Reporting into the Site & Factory Manager, you will take ownership of the Engineering function, leading a small team of 3 Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers.

Manage the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance as breakdowns occur

Undertake continuous improvement to improve machine reliability, actively looking to reduce downtime caused by equipment failure

Manage the CMMS’s continued integration and evolution

Take an active hands-on approach to maintenance as & when required

Plan & execute engineering projects and shutdowns

Gather, analyse and report on engineering, OEE, cost and processes

Contribute to the ongoing strategic plans & improvements of the factory

Take an active role in increasing safety & quality standards

Supervise & manage the engineering team who cover 24/5 including appraisals, promotions, recruitment, absence management, disciplinaries etc

Work closely with Production to help the plant deliver productivity goals
Preferred Skills & Experience
-
A qualified Engineer with either Mechanical or Electrical qualifications, ideally gained through a completed Apprenticeship

Previous experience within a production, manufacturing, Industrial or Facilities environment

Experience of leading, mentoring or coaching other Engineers

A Hands-On Engineer who still enjoys working on the tools, undertaking PPM and reacting to breakdowns

Must have good people skills, able to give clear direction and instruction, can coach & mentor more junior Engineers, sharing your knowledge & experience to increase the effectiveness of each team member

Good troubleshooting & problem solving skills

Has a passion for engineering, the ability to work effectively as the team lead and the drive to identify & implement improvements that will deliver increased business success
