We are seeking a Operations Cleaner to join our night shift team. The successful candidate will support the company in maintaining current BSI & Quality accreditations by ensuring high quality cleaning is carried out on a day-to-day basis according to cleaning schedules. The role is pivotal to supporting the Company vision and mission in relation to upkeep of the ‘Clean as you go’ initiative and taking ownership of cleaning support during shift
The Role:

Ensure all production floor areas are swept through to a high standard using a mechanised cleaning machine.

Wash floor areas using a factory cleaning machine ensuring all H&S requirements are adhered to at all times.

Regularly carry out assigned cleaning duties as per the requirement of the cleaning schedules.

Ensure waste bins are regularly emptied into the compactor and also clearing any residual mess left in compactor areas after usage.

Ensure regular checks of the equipment and machines used during the working day, and any faults/defects are reported to the Thermoforming Manager.

Report any oil/water leaks from machines to the Thermoforming Manager for preventative causes to be investigated.

Ensure that all plastic pellets or granulate materials are safely bagged, so as to prevent possible contamination into main stream water courses as per the operation clean sweep policy.

Ensure cleaning machine water is disposed of in the correct manner and that the correct drainage area is used at all times.

Remove bagged rubbish from packing areas and ensuring safe disposal in line with company policies and procedures.

Individuals are required to complete a cleaning schedule for the Hygiene and Quality management system on a daily basis including the completion of assigned tasks as required per shift.

The individual will wear the required Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) assigned to the job role as specified in the company risk assessments.

To liaise on a daily basis with other team members of the cleaning team on other shifts for a handover of potential issues arising during their own shift.

Responsible for adhering to Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety regulations applicable to their role.

Undertake such other duties that are deemed reasonable and commensurate with the role according to business needs.
The Person:

Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with others in a team.

Team worker with a flexible approach to the role and others.

A hands-on approach to the role with a keen eye for detail.

Basic understanding of H&S procedures.

Positive working attitude when working alone or within a team.

Previous experience of working in a high volume FMCG or manufacturing environment (desirable, not essential).

Basic Numerical and verbal reasoning skills (essential)

COSHH or City & Guilds Level 3 qualification (desirable not essential).

Willingness to work night shifts from 10pm to 6am, five days a week (Monday to Friday).

Right to work in the UK (must be able to provide evidence at interview).

Additional Information
This is full-time (40 hours) and permanent contract. Night Shift: 10pm - 6am, five days a week (Monday – Friday). £11.44 per hour +shift (premium) allowance.
