We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager who is interested in joining one of the world’s leading Waste and Recycling companies. You will be responsible for ensuring that financial processes and controls are operating over all aspects of financial reporting, accounting, systems, compliance and business transactions. Working in Long Marston, the successful candidate will manage a team, working under the supervision of a knowledgeable and supportive Financial Controller.
This is a hybrid working role, 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Financial Controller to ensure that at all times we strive for excellence in the finance support to the business
- Ensuring the UK systems, accounting policies and procedures are in compliance with Group policies and local regulations and standards
- Liaise closely with Financial Controller on all accounting and systems issues as necessary
- Take a lead role with our external auditors, Deloitte, in ensuring a smooth and efficient audit and completion of statutory accounts.
- Take a lead role with internal audit, including demonstrating ongoing compliance requirements are being adhered to and any other additional projects.
- Ensure tax compliance and liaise with external tax advisors
- Responsible for Fixed Asset compliance, ensuring CER policies are adhered to and the turnaround time for CER sign-off is timely to support the business operations.
- Ensure that the leasing system is up to date and the IFRS16 accounting entries understood.
- Preparation of UK Finance Board Papers
- Preparation of monthly management accounts (in conjunction with finance business partnering team.
- Ensure that month end control file is properly prepared, reviewed and signed off reconciliation preparation / review.
- Ensure that all group reporting to Group Finance office is accurate and timely.
- Assist the Company Secretary with the management of the pensions and insurance requirements of the business.
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant with ideally at relevant post qualification experience
- Experience in dealing with financial accounting issues, such as, statutory accounts, tax, auditors (internal and external), monthly reporting and compliance.
- Experience of working in a business to business environment involving exports and foreign currency hedging would be an advantage.
- Experience of working in a PLC or large business environment would be beneficial, in particular, experience of liaising with the Group Finance Team and understanding the importance of their reporting requirements.
- Knowledge and exposure to working in a SOX style control environment would be beneficial.
- Strong Excel skills essential and experience of using Navision beneficial.
