Job title: Supplier Cost Engineer
Location/remote: Crawley/onsite
Contract length: 12 months
Pay rate: £250-£300 per day PAYE
Randstad Sourceright, a worldwide RPO & MSP Recruitment Services has an exciting opportunity for a temporary Supplier Cost Engineer to join a multinational technologies company that operates in over 90+ countries.
Due to an increase in workload, they are now looking for a Supplier Cost Engineer to support their manufacturing facility in Crawley
Overview
You will be accountable for managing on-budget delivery of maintenance overhauls and repairs. Also managing effective supplier interfaces; driving efficient supply chain stock rotation and adherence to contract deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, representing various management interests. Conduct regular site visits across UK supplier sites to foster effective engagement.

Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to KPIs and budget objectives. Report on actual vs budget vs forecast values to various teams.

Rolling Stock Expertise: Gain a comprehensive understanding of rolling stock components and manage M&D control effectively.

Health, Safety & Environment: Implement and comply with Rolling Stock policies. Promote a safe and environmentally conscious workplace.

Project Management: Drive project success by reporting cost deliverables, providing input at project evaluation stages, and ensuring transparency in the supply process.

Continuous Improvement: Document and improve processes for managing M&D, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and avoiding unnecessary expenses.
What We’re Looking For:

Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.

Knowledge of Rolling Stock maintenance processes.

Ability to manage and enforce supplier contract deliverables.

Experience in managing supplier/customer relationships.

Engineering background with maintenance practice experience.

Proficiency in IT systems/software for managing spreadsheets and project tools.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Technical awareness in engineering.
