Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 (+ benefits)

We are looking to recruit a Data Analyst for a global software and solutions organisation. You will be a self-motivated individual who excels at working with a high level of detail in a diverse, and often time-critical environment. Working with high volumes of electoral data you will be responsible for collating and processing votes from my client's postal scanning and electronic systems, ensuring the integrity of elections.
This is an initial 12 month fixed term contract and an excellent role for someone with an interest in politics / elections looking for their first data focused position.
The role is hybrid with 2 days a week on site at my client's office in North London.
Principal Accountabilities:
Data Processing:
Import, process, and query vote data using MS Access and SQL Server.
Produce accurate election result, summary, and breakdown reports within project schedules.
Support the project manager to deliver the highest quality of service to my client's customers.
Project Management:
Handle multiple projects simultaneously, requiring critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Create and adapt basic queries and procedures to identify issues and manipulate data effectively.
Team Collaboration:
Assist with the management and delivery of team objectives, contributing to the overall strategy of the team and business unit.
Actively participate in reviewing and improving sector and company procedures and software.
Essential Competencies:
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Access, Excel, and Word.
Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, file formats, and data conversion issues.
Previous experience with databases, especially MS Access or SQL Server Management Studio, and working with large data sets is preferred.
Experience:
Experience in a project-based environment is advantageous.
Direct customer interaction experience is a plus.
Awareness of various voting systems (e.g., First Past the Post, Single Transferable Vote, Proxy voting) is beneficial.
Attention to Detail:
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure within tight deadlines.
Communication Skills:
Well-developed communication skills with the confidence to liaise with both technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of the company and with customers.
Time Management:
Strong time-management skills; hard-working, flexible, and able to oversee multiple jobs from start to finish within given timeframes.
Self-Motivation:
Self-motivated with the ability to plan, complete, and document projects with minimal supervision while seeking the right advice when required.
Teamwork:
Desire and experience of working as part of a team.
