Cleaner Supervisor
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £24,294 - £25,119 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week (split shift)
- 6.00-8.30 & 13.30-18.30 Monday to Thursday
- 6.00-8.30 & 13.30-18.00 Friday
Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services.
They have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chef’s and chef’s working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings.

The Role
An opportunity exists for suitable individuals to work within the Facility Operations as a Cleaner Supervisor.
- There will be a responsibility for the supervision of cleaning staff and designated cleaning areas.
- You will be expected to be able to deal with varying workloads and the cleaning of a defined area.
- You must be able to manage your own time.
- There will need to be a degree of flexibility around training and certain key events in the school calendar e.g., parent’s evenings, governing body meetings, Christmas and summer fairs etc.
- Annual Leave is to be taken during the School Holidays.
To work in their busy school, you must be enthusiastic, hardworking and able to forge positive relationships with their client, school staff, children and parents. Skills and Qualifications
They are looking for someone who:
- Has well developed interpersonal skills and is capable of working effectively with and leading their cleaning colleagues.
- Has a flexible approach to work, hours and locations.
- Is capable of regular stooping, bending, lifting and carrying.
- Is a team player but able to use your own initiative.
- Can have good relationships with others.
- Is self-motivated and able to work to fixed deadlines.
- Is customer focused.
- Can deliver cleaning to the required standards
- Is suitable to work with children and young people
- Is able to undertake written and spoken instructions and speak English.
- You must be able to undertake the split shift requirements of the role.
