And right now, we’re looking for a Technical Training Manager. Based at our Capenhurst you’ll enable delivery by developing and implementing the Site Service model for the Technical Training portfolio in a safe, compliant, and reliable manner—across Enrichment, Chemical Processing, Decommissioning & Waste, and Group Projects on the Capenhurst site.
The Technical Training Manager will be accountable for providing a range of training services that support the efficient and effective operation of the Capenhurst site as a whole, operational business units and other activities that are conducted on site, working in collaboration with Learning and Development, Urenco Group Technical Training Manager and Business Unit Technical Training Managers.
Ensure safe and compliant delivery of the Technical Training Services including ownership of processes to underpin Nuclear Site Licence Condition Compliance (LC10 – Training and LC12 - Duly Authorised and other SQEP)
Develop an aligned and integrated approach, framework and operating model on how Technical Training services are planned, prioritised, co-ordinated and delivered across the Capenhurst site.
Provide oversight to the Business Unit Technical Training Managers, working in a matrix approach across the Capenhurst Site.
Define the requirement of the Training and Qualification Program for what it means to access/work on Capenhurst and the members of the Site Services, Engineering & Projects & CNO Teams (employees, agency workers, & contractors).
Collaborative working cross functionally across the wider team and various Business Centres/Group Projects will be essential to safe, compliant, and reliable delivery of the Business Support Services objectives.
Define KPIs and performance metrics both for delivery as well as system/process health across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP) to inform data-based decision making
Accountable for the management and performance against the Business Support Services budget. Prepare, manage, and update all funding requests within the appropriate process (e.g. opex or capex).
What will your day look like?
Overseeing delivery and implementation of technical training programs for the Capenhurst workforce.
Providing Learning Facilitation Training and undertaking Nuclear Baseline Competency Assessment to ensure rigorous deployment and assessment of competency.
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal site performance
Collaborating with departmental managers across the Capenhurst site to develop and implement role specific training and assessment programs e.g. for Site Services, Engineering & Projects, CNO
Identifying skill gaps and training needs across various departments
Designing and delivering technical training sessions, workshops, and materials
Producing and maintaining the training and assessment standards for the Capenhurst Site.
Being a member of the Business Support Services Management Team working collaboratively, sharing ideas to improve the ways of working and the working environment.
What do you need to be great at this role?
Degree qualified in an applicable discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
Level 4 Learning & Development Practitioner (e.g. CIPD, TAP™) or Operational/Technical training experience
Practical experience of design, delivery and evaluation of learning and development solutions.
Proven background in training / learning and development.
Awareness of qualifications credit frameworks is essential, typically supported by a professional qualification in learning and development related discipline.
Extensive knowledge of learning and development related policies and procedures.
Strong leadership, planning, coordinating, organising and communication skills.
