Successful engineering business require a Senior Buyer on a REMOTE basis. Applicants need strategic procurement experience within manufacturing engineering. Comfort with REMOTE working, and available immediately or with short notice.
The Senior Buyer will join a team of REMOTE working Buyers and Senior Buyers, reporting to a Head of Procurement. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for leading strategic procurement tasks (sourcing, negotiation, LTAs), while working with Buyers to ensure effective supplier management and continuity of supply to customers. The role will involve close liaison with technical engineering stakeholders in Quality and Design, and also Sales.

Specific duties of the Senior Buyer include:
Selection/de-selection of supply partners and supply market intelligence activities
Negotiation, agreement and management of LTAs with suppliers
Development and implementation of sourcing strategies
Oversee optimal inventory levels in MRP/ERP
Operational and strategic supplier relationship management and contract management
Realisation of cost savings and cost avoidance objectives
Support the function as it continues to grow and streamline operations
Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
Strategic procurement skills and experience (sourcing, negotiations, LTAs, SRM and contract management
Procurement experience within a technical engineering or manufacturing environment
Previous experience in, or knowledge of the oil & gas and petrochemical sector, desirable but not essential
Comfortable with engineering stakeholders, technical drawings, BOMs, MRP/ERP etc
MCIPS / CIPS / Degree - desirable but not essential
Comfortable with a full-time, remote role
