Payroll and Compensation Specialist
Role Overview:
Join the Payroll team responsible for processing, accounting, and reporting compensation components (payroll, bonus, tax, etc.) within the EMEA Finance team. This hands-on finance role is ideal for a self-starter with excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills. You'll work efficiently while ensuring high-quality and controlled delivery of information, collaborating closely with other finance functions and HR.
Role Responsibilities:
Compensation Journals:
Manage the monthly end-to-end compensation journal process, including payroll, taxes, benefits, and bonus accruals across EMEA.
Business Partner Support:
Assist business partners in reviewing compensation accruals and ensure accurate accounting bookings.
Payroll Tasks:
Upload data to Payroll software (Workday) and run monthly reports.
Documentation and Reconciliation:
Fully document and review all processes.
Own balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are reconciled with relevant calculations and records.
Financial Analysis:
Provide analysis to support cash flow forecasting and monthly balance sheet FSR pack.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts for P&L and balance sheet.
Statutory Accounts:
Support the delivery of annual statutory accounts for the Group and EMEA controlled entities.
Risk and Control Framework:
Ensure an effective risk and control framework is embedded in all processes.
Audit Queries:
Handle compensation-related queries during the year-end audit process.
Stakeholder Relationships:
Build and maintain professional relationships with the EMEA Finance Team, Group Finance, and external auditors.
Additional Duties:
Undertake other reasonable duties as required within this role.
Experience / Competencies:
Essential:
Part-qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Accounts Technician qualification.
Previous experience in a similar environment.
Experience in delivering new reporting requirements and process changes.
Familiarity with Oracle Financials and Workday.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and IFRS.
Knowledge of effective control environments.
