A fast growing IT Managed Service Provider in North West England is seeking a Senior Technical Solutions Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for a high-level engineer to join the team and potentially advance to a Technical Director role in the future.
Responsibilities:
Take ownership of the most technically challenging support issues, whether escalated or directly assigned, and navigate to successful resolutions.
Assess and select new IT, telecoms, and cyber-security services and solutions for both client provision and internal use.
Scope and manage projects effectively, providing technical advice and guidance.
Assist account management and sales teams with pre-sales activities, including client requirements assessment and solution scoping.
Lead the onboarding of new services, including assessment, planning, training, process creation, and documentation.
Identify improvement opportunities within support and project departments, recommending and implementing changes.Key Areas:
3rd Line Support: Act as a point of escalation for complex issues and assist support engineers.
Project Work: Lead and implement IT, telecoms, and cyber-security projects from scoping to successful implementation.
Pre-Sales: Support sales teams in assessing and scoping client requirements, attending client sites as needed.
New Services Assessment & Onboarding: Engage with third-party providers to assess and onboard new products and services.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in support and project processes.
Requirements:
Excellent technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2016+), Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, cyber-security tools, Apple Mac OS, VOIP, LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/Internet networking, TCP/IP, Active Directory/GPO, backup management, and remote management systems.
Natural analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn on the fly.
Solid understanding of IT environment risks and mitigation strategies.
Confident communicator with strong listening abilities and excellent telephone manner.
Self-motivated, ambitious, and hardworking with a positive attitude.
Comfortable working under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in varied IT environments, preferably with an IT Managed Service Provider.
Qualified to A-level or higher, with a degree in a computer-related subject being advantageous.
Full clean driving license required.
