As Head Chef you will:
• Lead and manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support
• Plan and develop menus with the team and Giovanni
Keep up with market prices and suppliers, ensuring the best quality for the best price is used.
Keep track of GP percentages on menu items
• Oversee food preparation and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient kitchen operations
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
• Collaborate with restaurant management to develop new recipes and seasonal specials
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
• Manage food costs by minimizing waste and implementing cost-saving measures
Experience:
• Proven experience working as a Head Chef or Sous Chef
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, flavours, and presentation - experience with Italian cuisine preferred but training can be provided.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff and management
