Our client is a leading distribution organisation, that is part of a global group with facilities throughout the UK. Due to internal growth within the site they are looking for a Lead Maintenance Engineer to work hands-on with the team and lead the engineering operation.
Role & Responsibilities:
Provide electrical & mechanical support & repairs for all automated materials handling systems
Carry out PPM's, reactive maintenance & project work
Leading a team of 5 engineers on site
Responsible for MHE equipment, facilities, building services, refrigeration, site services
Dealing with motors, electrical, contactors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, relays, electronics
Carry out staff appraisals, training, disciplinaries, reviews, holiday management
Accident and incident investigations
Ordering and management of spare parts & suppliers
PPM planning & scheduling, workload allocation
Out of hours support - on-call weekends when needed
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Ideally be a multi-skilled engineer
Must have worked as a maintenance lead / supervisor / team leader previously
Strong character, with excellent leadership traits
Qualified to minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
Ideally apprenticeship trained
Must have worked in some form of automated environment
Happy working at heights - up to 32 metres on some retrieval cranes
Comfortable working in cold and some freezer storage ( -22 degrees ) conditions
Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills
Experienced in working on conveyors, rollers, stackers, refrigeration, chillers, site services
PLC - electrical fault finding skills
Be an open character and team player, willing to help in all areas across the site
