We have a new prospect for a permanent Legal Secretary (Bespoke Residential Property) to join our client’s Team, based in Stockton, with an attractive salary and benefits package on offer, including enhanced maternity/paternity pay, working part-time or full-time.
You will be working for a family focused business, just awarded 'Law Firm of the Year' at the Northern Law Awards as well as receiving an award for 'Law Practice Management’, in this exciting, not to be missed, opportunity!
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to solicitors and fee earners, including opening files on Proclaim
- Conduct Solicitors Regulation Authority checks and client ID/money laundering checks
- Correspond with clients and law firms via email, letter, telephone, and face-to-face
- Order property searches and produce/amend legal documents
- Apply to the Land Registry for registration post-completion
- Schedule and forward completed documents to clients
- Close and archive files, update systems, and handle outstanding balances
- Address requisitions from HM Land Registry
- Pursue initial client documentation and update cases using LMS and Lender Exchange systems
- Prepare bills, completion statements, and liaise with Accounts for completions
- Manage abatement and re-issuance of bills
Key Requirements:
- Strong administrative skills
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and hard-working
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Quick learner with a proactive, "can-do" attitude
