We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our client in the Banbury area on a permanent basis.
The role will report to the Financial Controller, owning the day-to-day ledgers and supporting management accounting activities.
Consideration will also be given to candidates that have worked an Assistant Management Accountant role whilst working to be qualifed (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) who can demonstrate a strong background, and understanding of the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting the production of monthly management accounts and analysis to trial balance within agreed time frames
- Play a key role in weekly dashboard reporting
- Manage accruals and prepayments ensuring that postings are accurate.
- Releasing of associated deposits when job cards are closed
- Oversee production of weekly creditors reports for review and to Include reconciliation to control account
- Prepare and oversee regular supplier statement reconciliation for review and to agreed deadlines
- Completion of the company VAT/Intrastat returns for submission to HMRC.
- Management of the company’s bank accounts and oversee credit cards including monthly reconciliations and analysis of spend
- Maintenance of Holding company (minimal transactions).
- Process and maintain all supplier ledger activity
- Responsible for the management of the AP ledger for the business
- Prepare and submit weekly supplier payment runs to agreed deadlines
- Management of accounts @ Inbox ensuring workflow Is maintained and managed
- Understand the Finance and in house system to be able to utilise effectively
- Liaise with operational staff in resolving escalated supplier Invoice Issues to not Impact supplies
- Develop AP reporting and work closely with purchasing, reporting on supplier spend, ensuring terms maintained are sufficient for business needs
- Develop strong accounts payable controls aligned to strategic development plans and suggest new ways of working efficiently
- Suggest new ways of working and champion changes throughout the business, utilising IT
- Ensure transactions are posted daily and right first time
Skills & Personal Attributes
Essential:
- A detailed end to end understanding of all financial transactions and processes, Impact on finance, management reporting and on the wider business
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Intermediate level in Excel is essential
- Ability to deliver to strict deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
- Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships internally and externally.
- Ability to priorities own workload and manage conflicting priorities.
- Positive, proactive approach, self-motivated and uses own initiative.
Desirable:
- AAT Qualified and/or studying towards a recognised qualification (ACCA/CIMA).
- Sage 200 experience.
- Automotive / Motorsport /SME experience.
