Greenacre are pleased to be working alongside this Birmingham-based housing association in their search for a Senior Surveyor. Managing a team of two, with occasional interim support when required, this role requires a strong background in building management within social housing. Some experience of renewable energy and decarbonisation would be beneficial.
Key Job Responsibilities:

Ensure opportunities for resident participation in the management and decision-making of the services being delivered.

Provide technical support for property services by managing surveyors and specifying works for cyclical and planned maintenance, day-to-day repairs, insurance work, disrepair claims, damp and mould issues, and voids maintenance.

Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain a strong customer focus. Additionally, contribute effectively to the corporate strategy by collaborating with the Property Services Team to communicate, implement, and deliver the strategy.

Monitor the performance of all projects and contracts.

Ensure all works and contracts comply with Health and Safety and other relevant legislation.

Lead decarbonization projects and support renewable energy initiatives.

Implement and manage asset management policies and strategies as required.

Undertake survey works, including inspections for disrepair, litigation works, damp and condensation issues, and structural items.

Manage and supervise the Capital Works Surveyor, Day to Day and Voids Surveyor,

Hold monthly supervision meetings for all directly managed staff and conduct annual appraisals in line with policies and procedures.
The right candidate will have:

Proven 5 years of building management experience within the social housing, construction, or property sector.

Educated to HNC in building or equivalent, including relevant experience.

Proven experience in the management of major contracts.

Experience with renewable energy initiatives and projects, including knowledge of PAS 2035 standards.

Commitment to a customer-centred service and continuous improvement.

Understanding of legislation in maintenance and property management, with the ability to translate these into working practice.
