We have an exciting Senior Engineer opportunity with a tier one main contractor, working on a major highway improvement scheme in Fareham estimated to cost £80m. The company builds, renews and maintains highways, airports and railway infrastructure, as well as commercial, industrial and educational buildings.
Manage, supervise, train and mentor the site team to enable them to optimize their work contribution.
Communicate to the Project Manager, QA and QS teams non-conformances and any instructions received from the client / designer / RE’s staff.
Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes / variations, subcontractors’ attendance, and records of work-related discussions with Client / Designer / RE / Project Team
Ensure that inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works are being implemented and adhered to.
Manage and maintain records of all Quality and Technical Assurance documentations and assist Engineering team with the production, submission, and implementation of these documents.
Person Specification:
Experience working on civils projects
MEng/BEng/Foundation Degree/BTEC/ Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience in undertaking the role as TWC, Civil Engineering highways or structures environment
Mentoring Project and Assistant Engineers
Managing direct and subcontract works
Ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety are maintained on site
Good understanding of contracts and providing support to the commercial team in managing costs and maximising engineering efficiencies.
Managing the integration of the Civils scope of work from the design, into the construction stage and managing the interfaces with other disciplines on the project.
Writing tender scope, technical specifications for Civils engineering works
