Our client is seeking to recruit 2 x Account Managers to join their well established team based in Birmingham.
About the Role: for the Account Manager
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for nurturing and growing relationships with their key retail clients. You will serve as the primary point of contact for these clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded while driving business growth and revenue.
Key Responsibilities: for the Account Manager

Client Relationship Management:

Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers at their clients.

Act as the main point of contact for all client enquiries, concerns, and requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Understand the specific needs and preferences of each client, and tailor solutions and offerings accordingly.

Client Engagement:

Host customer visits to suppliers and trade shows, providing insights into our sourcing practices, product quality, and industry trends.

Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, showcasing our products, services, and value propositions.

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen relationships and explore new opportunities.

Internal Collaboration:

Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, marketing, technical, and operations to negotiate weekly and seasonal volumes, ensuring alignment with client demand and market conditions.

Work closely with the supply chain and logistics teams to address day-to-day variations in volume, shortages, and specification changes, ensuring seamless delivery and fulfilment of client orders.

Meet regularly with other team members to discuss progress and find ways to improve the business.

Sales and Business Development:

Proactively identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional products and services to clients.

Develop new products and services to meet client needs and market demands.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.

Team Management:

Market Analysis:

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to stay informed and ahead of the curve.

Prepare regular reports and presentations on client performance, sales forecasts, and market insights.
Qualifications: for the Account Manager

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not an absolute requirement.

Proven experience in account management, preferably within the retail or supermarket sector.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing client needs.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Experience in managing a small team is an advantage.

Flexibility to travel for client visits, trade shows, and industry events.
