Senior Communications and Engagement Officer

Pay Rates: £16.00 - £24.50 per hour (depending on skills and experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage media relations, including enquiries, events, press conferences, and reactive statements.
- Support and plan engaging social media content.
- Write, edit, and coordinate content for publications.
- Provide communication and marketing advice to staff and managers.
- Respond to queries via the website and social media channels.
- Handle media enquiries and prepare statements.
- Organise events, press conferences, and VIP visits.
- Create high-quality marketing materials.
- Supervise and mentor the Communications Administrative Assistant.
- Deputise for the Communications and Engagement Manager when needed.
- Utilise IT software for reports and documents.
- Maintain information systems like media release databases.
Essential Qualifications:
Degree in communications, journalism, or marketing, or equivalent experience.
Ongoing professional development in the communications field.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strategic thinking and planning for communications.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to support and motivate colleagues.
- High-level IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Welsh Language Skills: Desirable (levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing).
