Job Description:

Collect, analyze, and clearly communicate data from various management systems to ensure compliance with H&S targets and legislative mandates.

Identify improvement opportunities within H&S management systems and cultivate a culture of continuous enhancement.

Plan and execute internal audits, monitoring, and verification tasks to ensure management systems are effective.

Uphold H&S management systems and policies to maintain external accreditation standards (ISO, BRC, IPPC, CQA UKAS, etc.).

Proactively seek technological and process improvements, support innovation, and lead projects aimed at enhancing plant and process safety, quality, food safety, and environmental standards using continuous improvement methodologies.

Assist in developing H&S plans and implementing actions with team members to meet departmental, site, and business objectives.

Provide H&S support for trials and the introduction of new products.

Establish strong partnerships with regulatory bodies and government agencies.

Represent the factory at internal and external specialist forums.

Create, implement, and sustain training programs to increase SHE awareness and skills.

Perform, update, and review risk assessments (H&S, FMEA, etc.).

Actively participate in accident prevention efforts, including reporting and investigating incidents, maintaining records, conducting statistical analyses, and coordinating with insurers and legal representatives.
Skills and Experience:
Experience in a similar HSE role (FMCG or Food desirable)
Experience of implementing HSE policies.
Effective communication and able to communicate with all levels of the business.
Risk assessment implementation and review.
Knowledge of all relevant areas of legislation (health & safety)
Good leadership and people development skills NEBOSH or IOSH training completed
