Seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to support our finance department. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role involves:
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with stock records and reports
- Input approved staff expenses
- Prepare weekly payment runs and ensure timely supplier payments
- Prepare data for EU and UK VAT returns
- Reconcile sales invoices and maintain the fixed asset register
- Conduct financial due diligence on new suppliers
- Review outstanding purchase orders for accrual purposes
- Manage prepayment schedules and product swap transactions
- Prepare accrual schedules and reconcile profit and loss and balance sheets
- Allocate posting of supplier and ancillary invoices
- Prepare weekly commercial reports and variance analysis
- Conduct financial analysis and assist in forecasting
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Support various administrative tasks as required
Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience as a Finance Assistant
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise and work independently
- Excellent communication skills and a team player
- Professional, persuasive, empathetic, and able to handle conflict
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment
- Proficient in database management, Excel (intermediate), Word, Sage accounts
- Ability to identify improvements and facilitate change
- Positive attitude towards acquiring new skills
Desirable:
Experience in a high-performing finance team
Experience with Sage 50, Navision, Excel, and Word
