This newly created role is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Data Protection Manager / Data Protection Specialist looking to take ownership of data protection adherence in a market-leading business!

Reporting to our Operations Director, you will be the first-line support for day-to-day data protection related queries and requests for information from data subjects.
You'll work closely with various internal teams to monitor and manage data protection adherence and compliance across HSJ Information Ltd.
As our Data Protection Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Support with monitoring of Data Protection KPIs and execution of impact assessments.
- Administer data protection information management
- Support with implementation of new solutions to address discrepancies and risks
- Work withing existing compliance systems and policies.
- Work with DPO and other stakeholders to improve compliance with data protection standards
- Act as first point of contact for processing all subject access requests
- Fulfilling HCP or marketing SARs in a timely and compliant manner
- Supporting on HR SARs where appropriate
- Liaising professionally, responsible and effectively with data subjects to ensure statutory data access responsibilities are fulfilled
- Ensuring DP responses are accurate, compliant and timely
- Supporting on whether information should be disclosed or refused in compliance with relevant legislation, with the knowledge and understanding of when to escalate to DPO for clarification, further understanding and guidance.
- Responding to requests ensuring that all correspondence and associated disclosures are timely, accurate and compliant with legislation, regulations and policies.
- Escalation to Data Protection Officer where a disclosure relates to sensitive matters.
- Liaising with external stakeholders from where the material originates so as to ensure that their concerns about disclosure are taken into account.
- Ensuring accurate and comprehensive records are kept of requests, responses, disclosures and exemptions and associated correspondence.
- Supporting on Data Processing Agreements and support on other contractual requirements in relation to clients and suppliers
- Supporting on Data Protection Impact Assessments and other DP due diligence
- Contributing to monthly reporting of DP incidents, impacts and risks and mitigating actions
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
- Experience working in a process driven legal/ compliance environment.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage a substantial workload efficiently.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent investigative and reporting skills, particularly related to data protection complaints or issues.
- Good stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
To be successful in this role, it would be great if you have:
- An awareness and understanding of GDPR in a B2B environment.
