Contract Scotland is seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer for a civil engineering contractor, focusing on various commercial projects across the West Central Belt of Scotland. This role is ideal for someone with a solid civil engineering background and at least 4 years of experience, particularly in the groundwork and infrastructure sectors.
Role Overview: As a Senior Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the engineering team, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Setting Out and Surveying: Conduct site surveys and set out works accurately.
Strategy Implementation: Execute strategies as discussed with management.
Record Maintenance: Keep detailed records at all times.
Plan and Drawing Checks: Verify the accuracy of plans, drawings, and quantities.
Quality Control and Safety: Oversee quality control and health and safety on site.
Cost Management: Strive to reduce costs and maintain budgets.
Quality Procedures: Ensure company quality procedures are followed at all times.
Project Completion: Aim to complete projects on time and within budget.
Mentoring: Support and mentor junior staff on site.
Team Support: Assist the team and undertake other site engineering duties as required.
Relationship Building: Develop good working relationships with staff, clients, and subcontractors.
Required Background and Experience:
Qualification: Civil engineering qualification (HND/C or Degree).
Experience: At least 4 years of experience as a Site Engineer with a civil engineering contractor.
Groundwork and Infrastructure: Experience in setting out for groundworks and infrastructure projects.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of CAD or ground modelling is desirable but not essential.
CSCS Card: A valid CSCS card is required.
