About the role:
Our client is an Engineering business, working across a variety of sectors within the building and infrastructure industry.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor! This permanent position offers a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in managing the financial and commercial aspects of our projects. You will be based in either Bristol or Cardiff, working on exciting and challenging projects that span various sectors within the construction and engineering industry.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the commercial management of projects from inception to completion, ensuring profitability and cost control.

Prepare, manage, and negotiate contracts and sub-contracts.

Provide detailed financial reports and forecasts to senior management.

Manage project budgets, monitor expenditure, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors and other team members.

Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to maintain strong working relationships.

Resolve any commercial disputes or issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Assist in the preparation of tenders and bids, providing accurate cost estimates.
Qualifications and Experience:

Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

Chartered status (MRICS) or working towards chartership.

Significant experience in a similar role within the construction or engineering sector.

Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in financial and project management software.

Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
