Position Overview:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, al leader in Temperature Controlled Transport and Warehousing Solutions. They are seeking an experienced General Manager to work at their Derbyshire depot, managing the chilled operation. As the General Manager, you will be at the heart of our transport and warehouse operations, ensuring smooth, compliant, and efficient management of all site activities.
The role will involve:

Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure seamless operations.

Work closely with procurement managers and customers on product selection and supply strategies.

Plan and supervise both incoming and outgoing deliveries to meet customer expectations.

Oversee logistics, warehouse, and transport services, ensuring operational excellence.

Analyse budgets and manage expenditures to drive cost-efficiency.

Enforce industry laws, regulations, and company policies.
-
Address and resolve complaints and issues within the supply chain.

Maintain high standards of health and safety across the site and workforce.
The ideal candidate will have:

CPC National/International
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in logistics and supply chain management.

Technical Proficiency: Skilled in logistics and inventory management software.
-
Cold Store Expertise: Experience in warehouse management, particularly in a cold store/fridge environment.

A deep understanding of manufacturing processes.

Proven leadership skills

Safety Champion: A dedicated advocate for health and safety culture on site.
