About the Service
Devon County Council have a number of exciting opportunities for Education Officers to join our SEND Statutory Team. These posts are responsible for coordinating the Education Health and Care Needs assessments (EHCNA) and maintenance of the Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) for children and young people with Special Educational Needs in Devon.
About the Role
- Interesting and challenging role within a welcoming and supportive team
- Delivering the statutory duties and processes in relation to individual Education Health Care Needs assessments and reviews of Education Health and Care plans. The role could focus on assessments, Reviews or tribunal appeals.
- Using information provided from assessments or review meetings to write plans.
- The work is primarily office based in person, with opportunities to work from home in line with Devon County Council agile working policy.
- Working in partnership with children and young people and their families who are being assessed for or have an EHC plan.
- Working with team members, other internal DCC teams, schools, and partner organisations
About You
You will need to be well organised and motivated, a self-starter and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong IT and literacy skills to support writing and amending EHC plans. Educated to degree standard or with relevant experience of the SEND statutory processes and knowledge of the relevant legislation in relation to education and Special Educational Needs. Experience of working in the area and a track record of good relationships with families.
