Major Recruitment are searching for a Contracts Manager who can effectively organise and manage allocated contracts from receipt of order through the defects liability period, ensuring efficient completion, adherence to schedule, cost-efficiency, compliance with company procedures, safety legislation, and client satisfaction.
Your day to day?
Maintain regular communication with clients
Initiate and attend necessary meetings throughout the contract period
Ensure compliance with company procedures, statutory safety legislation, and best practice guides.
Produce contract programmes, construction plans, and relevant health and safety information.
Manage subcontractors or internal teams preparing designs and drawings
Resolve construction details with other trades.
Oversee the design and drawing processes, managing information flow between the client and the internal team.
Manage and review project variations.
Address commercial or programme issues from design meetings or instructions.
Advise clients on cost or programme implications of changes.
Place subcontractor orders to meet programme and budget requirements.
Maintain an overview of all financial aspects of the contract to maximise profitability.
Work with the production team to ensure product alignment with client requirements and schedules.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure safety and compliance.
Oversee site activities for smooth and professional project execution.
Stay updated on relevant industry codes and standards.
Liaise with external organisations such as main contractors, architects, engineers, sub-contractors, and advisory bodies like SCI and BCSA.
Maintain effective, productive, and professional relationships with clients and suppliers.
Resolve issues that could hinder contract award or project delivery.
What we need from you...
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction industry.
Willingness to work at various locations across the UK.
Proficiency in computer applications including Word and Excel.
Strong understanding of fabrication, erection, and site processes.
In-depth product knowledge of the steelwork industry.
Excellent communication skills.
