Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and pro-active person to join us. The Security Transformation Programme is upgrading and transforming the security search equipment at Heathrow with next generation equipment.
Our client is responsible for the overall deployment of the equipment working closely with the manufacturers. They cover elements such as project management, testing and assurance, reliability & flow performance monitoring & the installation of the ICS & IT infrastructure. The key objective our role is to ensure the equipment is fully handed over to the operation & engineering.
This role is to lead the quality and defect management process for the programme. The role will oversee and manage all aspects of quality and defects during the implementation phase of deployment. The programme is expected to run through until 2027 and is currently in the implementation phase. The role requires to be at Heathrow airport minimum 2-3 days a week but can vary and this is a senior role so it’s expected the candidate can manage their own time.
Experience and Skills
Must have previous experience in a similar role in an automation environment or baggage equivalent.
Must have the ability to lead a team and manage senior client stakeholders up to director level
Must be able to use previous experience to drive continuous improvement and establish a robust process
Must have previous experience of using tools to manage quality and defects in an automation environment
Must be able to drive improvement to the existing process
Desirable but not essential, Aviation and airport experience
Desirable but not essential, H&S experience in a construction or automation environment with relevant qualifications such as SMSTS or SSSTS.
The successful applicant will largely meet the following criteria:
Demonstrated experience in line management and business operations
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Leadership ability
Outstanding organisational skills
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise a changing workload.
Agile, adaptable, and willing to take on tasks for personal development and team benefit.
High level of IT literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, and an ability to research online.
