The School and Role
ABC Teachers are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head of Department Music Teacher for maternity cover at a thriving secondary school in Yardley. This role offers the chance to inspire young musicians and lead a talented department from September 2024. The school have a strong leadership team, who are supportive and motivating. You will have access to a range of resources and equipment to enhance your teaching. The school offers great professional development opportunities and have on-site parking for staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Music Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Develop and implement an engaging and comprehensive music curriculum.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback.
Organize and oversee school concerts, performances, and extracurricular music activities.
Collaborate with colleagues to promote a cohesive and supportive teaching environment.
Requirements
The successful Music Teacher will have;
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Music or a related field.
Proven experience in teaching Music at Key Stages 3 and 4.
Strong leadership and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
A commitment to fostering a love of music in all students.
The ability to lead and motivate a department.
Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
*All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
