Our large, public sector, Brighton based client are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager on an initial interim basis.
Job Purpose
You will be responsible for the operational management of the 13 kilometres of seafront at Brighton and Hove, covering the area from Saltdean to Hove Lagoon. Leading the provision of a safe, clean and controlled service to residents and visitors. Providing management and leadership to the operational seafront teams and temporary, seasonal colleagues in line with the council’s requirements for the seafront.
Experience

Managing and leading the team, including wellbeing support, managing rotas, attendance and return to work meetings,121s, team meetings and internal communications

Skilled communications management, particularly in relation to incidents of a sensitive nature. The seafront is one of the high profile areas of the city

The supervision of the team in the implementation of risk assessments, safe systems of work and to report, investigate, evaluate, accidents or incidents promptly

Working with management team colleagues to embed Health & Safety actions and improvements

Supporting the team while BHCC considers the option to transition to RNLI contract for seasonal lifeguard service

Forward planning with regard to a maintenance programme of work, including prioritising staff resources where needed, and procurement and purchasing

Planning staff training when the summer season ends
Experience of Facilities Management would be an advantage.
